Meiktila University of Economics (MEUE) was established on 14th June 2001 as a professional state university under the Department of Higher Education (Mandalay Region), Ministry of Education. Located in the strategic central city of Meiktila, Mandalay Region, MEUE is one of only three universities of economics and business in Myanmar, alongside Yangon University of Economics and Monywa University of Economics.
MEUE was founded with a noble mission: to train economists, statisticians, accountants, and management personnel, and to conduct research on economic, business, and statistical issues related to the Myanmar economy. With 175+ full-time staff (81 engaged in teaching and research) and over 3,500 students, MEUE has produced 18,000+ graduates serving as economists, accountants, bankers, civil servants, and entrepreneurs across Central and Northern Myanmar. The university offers bachelor's, master's (including full-time MBA, MPA, MBF), and PhD programs in commerce, business administration, economics, statistics, and public administration.
