About the University

The University of Technology, Yadanarpon Cyber City (UTYCC) is a public engineering and technology university founded in 2010, located within Yatanarpon Cyber City โ€” a purpose-built technology park situated 28 miles along the Mandalayโ€“Lashio road in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region. In Burmese, the university is known as

UTYCC stands apart from Myanmar's other engineering universities through its unique specialization in cutting-edge technology disciplines โ€” including Information Science and Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Precision and Automation, and Advanced Materials and Metallurgy Engineering. These are fields not widely offered at other national engineering universities, giving UTYCC graduates a distinct competitive edge in technology and research sectors.

The university is home to an active research arm at utycc-research.org, with particular strengths in cybersecurity (including lattice-based cryptographic systems such as FALCON), artificial intelligence, sustainable technology, and e-learning innovation. UTYCC aspires to become a Southeast Asia research hub contributing to Myanmar's digital transformation through industry and international partnerships.

Since September 1, 2021, UTYCC has been managed by an Interim Council comprising teacher representatives, student union representatives, and alumni โ€” operating under the National Unity Government's Ministry of Education policies and committed to the continuity of learning for its students.
