Yezin Agricultural University (YAU) is Myanmar's only agricultural university and the nation's premier institution for agricultural science education and research. Founded in 1924 as an agricultural college, it was transferred from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation in 1993 for better facilities and resources. In 1998, it was officially renamed Yezin Agricultural University.
Located in Zeyar Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, YAU comprises 13 major academic departments, 8 academic supporting departments, and 2 research and knowledge centers. The university offers a five-year Bachelor of Agricultural Science (BAgrSc) degree with 10 specialized majors, a three-year Master of Agricultural Science (MAgrSc) program, and doctoral (PhD) programs in agricultural sciences.
